Dividend Calculator
Estimate how much dividend income your portfolio could pay, and how reinvesting dividends speeds up growth.
Year-by-year dividends
How the dividend calculator works
Each year, the portfolio pays dividends equal to its value times the current yield. The dividend per share grows by your dividend growth rate and the share price grows by your price growth rate, so the yield on the current value shifts each year. With DRIP on, dividends buy more shares. Your yearly contribution is added at the end of each year.
Dividend yield vs. yield on cost
Dividend yield is the yearly dividend divided by today's share price. Yield on cost divides the income by what you actually invested. When a company raises its dividend for years, your yield on cost can climb well above the current yield.
Watch out for very high yields
A yield far above similar companies can mean the share price fell because investors expect a dividend cut. Dividends are never guaranteed.
