How to read the gold price
The gold price shown is the spot price in US dollars per troy ounce, the wholesale price for immediate delivery of large bars. One troy ounce is 31.1035 grams. To get the price per gram, divide the spot price by 31.1035. To get the price per kilogram, multiply by 32.1507.
Coins and small bars sell for more than spot because dealers add a premium. Use our gold investment calculator to value your holding in ounces, grams or kilograms.
